Hotel University College in Prague 9 passed within the days of 16th - 18th February in the Vladimír Best Western Hotel.
Academic departments’ heads, the chancellor and the honorary secretary of the operator took part.
On Friday 16.2., the participants of the college visited the North Bohemian Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Ústí nad Labem to see the Verdi’s opera Rigoletto with a Mexican star Rafael Alvarez.
On Saturday 17.2., after the morning meeting and lunch, the visitors had a trip arranged to Dresden to do sightseeing in the center of the town. The evening followed with an eight-course banquet, which was a presentation of our hotel top gastronomic skills.
In the end of the two-day event the College participants assessed our services very positively, namely the gastronomy. This praise pleased us a lot and encouraged our effort to develop our professional skills as the guests were top experts in the hotel industry and gastronomy.
BW Hotel Vladimir celebrated 20th birthday.
20th birthday of BW Hotel Vladimir was celebrated on 21 November. This occasion was accompanied by VIP party.
Already in 1983, the construction of this most remarkable construction commenced in Ústí nad Labem. It continued until 1986, when the hotel was officially opened and many important figures of that era were present at this event. The main architect of the project Ing. Arch.Rudolf Bergr approached this challenge in not typical fashion for that time and thanks to him the town Ústí nad Labem is very proud of this non-traditional building today. The celebration of 20th anniversary of opening Best Western Hotel Vladimir took place 21. November 2006 and many significant figures from Ústecký region as well as the president of the Hotels and Restaurants Association of the Czech Republic Ing. Pavel Hlinka and general deputy Václav Stárek were present, they officially handed over plaque and congratulated on the anniversary of the hotel. The executives and owners of Best Western Hotel Vladimir have been Ing. Antonín Izák and Ing. Jaromír Bedrna for fifteen years, they were the ones who accepted the plaque and thus started the celebration, which lasted until early morning hours. „This special event should not just represent an anniversary celebration, but also thanks to our clients and suppliers for their favour, which they have shown over the recent years. Since good relationships make good business“, in an interview said the Director of the hotel Sandra Arbesová. Thus, in the hotel’s hall was spectacular presentation of suppliers, cooperation with Best Western Hotel Vladimir. The event was attended by wine producers, producers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, producers of meat and other food products, clothes designers, cigar importers, hotel school and many others. On the conference Floor called Vista Floor started sale exhibition of pictures made by children from Children’s Home (orphanage) in Ústí nad Labem. There was also a special buffet available for guests, which included typical dishes as well as specialities. The team of cooks from Best Western Hotel Vladimir was, right on the spot, awarded by the satisfaction of the guests. Regarding this birthday, a finalist from the 1 round of the competition Česko hledá Superstar (Czechs looking for a Superstar) called Martina Balogová came to sing and congratulate together with the band Fonotest. The whole evening was led by moderator of the regional radio Marek Leština. Best Western Hotel Vladimir is the only hotel in the region offering services of category 4*, which reflects in a high-quality accommodation and gastronomy as well as additional services. The hotel enjoys continuous coming of guests from abroad, especially from Germany and also interest of companies mainly due to construction of modern conference halls, which are over the past few years, very popular as growing number of conferences takes place in the region. The cooperation between Best Western Central Europe and the company owning the hotel, based on concluding a franchising contract, has brought many benefits.
